Review of "Hawk-eye, the Pathfinder" (BR 8)

'Mabel, you must be happy!' (p. 63)    Mabel Dunham was a daughter of Sergeant Dunham, who was a soldier in the English Army. He was a soldier in the 55th Regiment. Mabel was nineteen years old and she hadn't seen his father for fifteen years. So, she wanted to see he father.    On the way of travel, Marvel and other people met three men. One of the men was an Indian. His name was Chingachgook. And the other two were white men. The name of the young man was Jasper Western. The old man had many names, Hawk-eye, Long Gun and Pathfinder.    After Mabel see her father, Sergeant Dunham wanted his daughter to marry Pathfinder. Pathfinder loved Mabel. But Mabel loved Jasper. Jasper and loved Mabel, too. In fight with French Army, a lot of people died, including Sergeant Dunham. Before Sergeant died, Mabel made a promise to his father that she would marry Pathfinder. But she still loved Jasper. Pathfinder understood that. So, Pathfinder said that Mabel must marry Jasper.

Review of "Good Wives" (BR 7)

'Your hands aren't empty now, mydear,' (p. 59)    This story is about four sisters - Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy March. Meg was twenty years old, Jo was nineteen, Beth was seventeen and Amy was sixteen.    First, Meg got married to the teacher of Laurie Laurence, John Brooke. Meg made mistakes, but John was always kind. So, they had good days.    And, Laurie Laurie, the neighbor of Marches, first loved Jo, but finally he got married to Amy.    Beth became ill, so Jo took care of her. But Beth died early one morning.    Although Jo was alone for a long time, one day she came across Professor Bhaer in New York. After a few years, they got married.    Then, they had very good days.    I'm sorry that Beth died, but I'm glad that other three sisters were happy. Alcott, M. Louisa. (2005). Good Wives. Review of "The Black Tulip" (BR 6)

'Yes! I have grown dark-blue tulips. I have grown dark-red tulips. Now I will grow a black tulip! It will be very difficult. But I will win the prize.' (p. 10)    It was November 1671, in Netherlands. There was the notice that the government will give 100,000 guilders to grower who grow a black tulip. Cornelius Van Baerle and Isaac Boxtel read the notice. These two men were neighbors, but they weren't friends.    Cornelius is a scientist. He is clever. So, he tried to grow a black tulip. After a few months later, He succeed to produce bulbs of black tulip.    To steel the bulbs, Boxtel tried to put Cornelius to prison. In the prison, Cornelius asked the daughter of jailer, Rosa to grow the black tulip.    After blooming the flower, Boxtel stole the tulip. Then, he brought it to the house of the President of the Flower Society. Rosa go there, too. Then, all the people understood that Boxtel wasn't the grower of the black tulip.    Finally, Cornelius and Rosa

'God bless you, Captain Vere,' he said. (p. 59)    William Budd was an impressed man who works on the warship, HMS Indomitable .And he is called Billy Budd. He is a good man and a good worker. Every workers on Indomitable like him.    But John Claggart, master-at-arms hates him. master-at-arms hates good men. He wants to punish such people. Because of  being a wicked people, all of his workers don't like master-at-arms.    To punish Billy, master-at-arms make a not-true story. That is very terrible lies that Billy planned a mutiny. Master-at-arms tells it Captain Vere. After that, the Captain had his servant to find Billy.    After Billy listened to the story of master-at-arms, Billy couldn't speak. So, he hit master-at-arms. Then, master-at-arms was dead. Billy killed him! Captain Vere decided to hang Billy. Billy is going to die. But his face was peaceful.    After the death of Billy, Captain Vere died in fighting.His last words were, 'Billy Budd,

Review of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer" (BR 4)

'—and the doctor hit Muff Potter with the piece of wood. Muff fell down. Then Injun Joe pushed the knife into the doctor's—' (p. 44)    Tom Sawyer was a eleven-year-old boy. His parents were dead. So, He lived with his father's sister, Aunt Polly. He did not help Aunt Polly. He often behaved badly.    One day, he and his friend, Huck encountered a murder. Injun Joe killed Doctor Robinson. But Injun Joe put the blame on Muff Potter. Tom and Huck knew that Muff is a good man. In the trial of Muff, Tom testified that Injun Joe commited a murder, not Muff. Then, Injun Joe ran away.    At the picnic with his friend, Becky, Tom and Becky went into a cave. They left the other children. They took a basket of food and some candles. They went further into the caves together. After a while, they couldn't find the entrance. They're lost!    In the cave, Tom saw a man. It was Injun Joe. After escaping from the cave, Tom told the Judge about Injun Joe. Then, Injun Joe

Review of "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" (BR 3)

'We'll start our journey tonight.' (p. 24) This is another story of "The Adventures of Tom Sawyer."    Huckleberry Finn, everyone in St Petersburg calls him 'Huck', always lives alone. Because his mother is dead, and his father hates him and always drinks. He often hits Huck.    He is afraid of his father. So, he decided to go out of St Petersburg. On the way, he comes across many people. For example, he meets Jim, a runaway slave. They've known each other because Jim was a slave of Huck's neighborhood.    Jim is so a kind person. Huck likes him. Huck and Jim run away by cooperating each other.    Finally, they reached the farm of his friend, Tom Sawyer's aunt Polly's cousin. They got a peaceful life. 'I don't want to see water again - not for long time!' (p. 31)    There are four men in the forest. They were looking for iron and other metals.    Leon and Manuel thought that it was going to rain that day. The rain will turn the ground into mud. Then they'll never get back to base. But Joe and Pedro weren't there for two days. They have been hunting. Leon was angry.    They put baggages into their car and leave the forest. There are lots of problems on the way. For example, the truck stopped in mud and the bridge of the largest river was broken. Review of "Anna and the Fighter" (BR 1)

Anna smiled at Sam for the first time. 'Good luck, Sam,' she said. (p. 19)       A girl, Anna planed to visit the house of her aunt by train. But, on the train, she fell asleep and passed the station she planed to get off. Then, a man spoke to her. Near him, there is a news paper. There the picture of the man with sentence: "This man is a dangerous fighter!" So, she thinks a criminal.     She follows him. She was so afraid. But, the next day, she follows him again. Then, she understand everything. The man, Sam is a boxer. The strongest boxer in the country. She watch the game of Sam. She was so excited. And, Sam won the game.   After that,Sam takes her her aunt' house. Surpriseingly, her aunt knows Sam. Sam was famous. Then, they talked happily. I thought it was a interesting story.
