Review of "The Man in the Iron Mask" (BR 18)
'All for one, and one for all!' (p. 63)
One day, a bishop and a prisoner hatched the plot to seize a position and a power from the French king, Louis ⅩⅣ.
They succeeded in putting the king to the prison. But then, the plot came to light. The bishop decided to escape with his friemd, Porthos. But, the prisoner was caught and his face was covered with an iron mask. He couldn't remove the mask forever.
On the other hand, the bishop and Porthos went to an island. But, the king's troop pursued them. The two people fought against the troop with people in the island. They killed a lot of people. But finally, Porthos was killed in an accident. Then, the bishop escaped from the island to Spain by a boat.
In the end, the king gave up catching the bishop.
After a few years, three friends of the bishop died.
I felt painful after reading this story.
