Review of "The Dark Side of the City" (BR 9)

"Police! Stop or wee shoot! Now, Joe!" (p. 43)

The name of the main character is Nat Marley. He has been a private investigator in New York for over ten years. Before that, he was in the police.
While I was working in my office on East 43rd Street I got a phone call. "I want to talk with you about a family problem," the caller, Curtis began.
His brother-in-law, Ellis changed terribly. He's just not the same man.
Ellis has his own pet shop. He sells customers from birds to snakes.
In fact, Dionne, Curtis's sister and Ellis's wife, has a terrible disease and has to go to the hospital. Ellis saved money for her, but he couldn't save enough money to go to the hospital. So, he sells his customers snakes that isn't allowed to bring to the country. And then, he was threatened by one of the curtomers who bought the illegal snake, and had to sell cocaine.
Nat helped them so smartly. Ellis and Dionne could have a usual, safe life. Crutis lent some money. So, Dionne could go to the hospital.
Sometimes he sees too much of the dark side of the city like this.
I was excited about this story. And I like this story very much.
