Review of "Washington Square" (BR 5)

'Please go now. I don't want to see you again.' (p. 62)

Catherine Sloper lives with her father and her aunt in Washington Square. She is plain and uninteresting. But one day she will be rich because her father was a rich man, and after his death, she would be given his money.

Catherine falls in love with a handsome young man, Morris Townsend. But does he want Catherine? Or does he want her money?
Of course he wanted her. But, he also wanted her father's money, too.
Catherine's father didn't allow Catherine to marry Morris and he said that he would give his all money to the hospital.

Gradually, Morris came to think that he didn't want Catherine. Catherine wanted to marry him, but he went away to earn money. Finally, they didn't marry.

After many years, they met again. Morris asked her to marry, but she rejected it.
I thought that the end of the story was painful.
