Review of "Anne of Green Gables"

   Marilla Cuthbert and her brother Matthew want to adopt an orphan, to help on the farm at Green Gables. They ask for a boy, but they get Anne, who has red hair and freckles, and who talks and talks and talks.
   They didn't want a girl, but how can they send a child back, like an unwanted parcel? So Anne stays, and begins a new life in the sleepy, quiet village of Avonlea in Canada.
   But it is not so quiet after Anne comes to live there...

Review of "Jack and the Westbourne Fair"

The Westbourne Fair is coming to town and it is Jack's favourite moment of the year. But when he gets into trouble at school his parents say that he can't go to the fair. Jack decides to go to the fair anyway and he learns that there are more important things in life than having fun. I read "Jack and the Westbourne Fair." This book was written by Martyn Hobbs. And this book was published by Helbling Languages in 2009. This book is a part of "Helbling Readers 2."

Review of "Circle Games" (BR 8)

'Turn like a wheel,' he laughed while he danced with the children. (p. 11)    This book is consisted of five stories. So, I'd like to review one of the stories.    The title of the story is 'Quick Man Tan.' Caleb Tan was a great Chinese dancer and could move like fighters in kung fu films long time ago.    His family, he and his wife and son, has a cafe. His son was a good cook, and cooked all meal of the cafe. And, his wife carried the meal to people came to the cafe. But, Tan didn't work at all.    All he did was telling people his old stories. His family wanted him to work.    But one day, a robber came in to the cafe. He had robbed some things at other places. All people were afraid of the robber, but Tan moved like fighters in kung fu  films and the robber was on the floor. He helped to catch the robber! Review of "The Dark Side of the City" (BR 9)

"Police! Stop or wee shoot! Now, Joe!" (p. 43)    The name of the main character is Nat Marley. He has been a private investigator in New York for over ten years. Before that, he was in the police.    While I was working in my office on East 43rd Street I got a phone call. "I want to talk with you about a family problem," the caller, Curtis began.    His brother-in-law, Ellis changed terribly. He's just not the same man. Ellis has his own pet shop. He sells customers from birds to snakes.    In fact, Dionne, Curtis's sister and Ellis's wife, has a terrible disease and has to go to the hospital. Ellis saved money for her, but he couldn't save enough money to go to the hospital. So, he sells his customers snakes that isn't allowed to bring to the country. And then, he was threatened by one of the curtomers who bought the illegal snake, and had to sell cocaine.    Nat helped them so smartly. Ellis and Dionne could have a usual, safe life. C
